Anu Natarajan: A New Leader for BART
Chair of the BART Bond Oversight Committee, Anu Natarajan possess a unique perspective and skill-set developed over decades of hands-on professional experience in the public, private, non-profit and political sectors, specializing in community outreach and engagement in a variety of settings.
With ten years of service on the Fremont City Council, and a Masters of Urban Planning and Urban Design from the University of Washington, Seattle, Anu has successfully led and managed all aspects of complex multi-jurisdictional projects.
Her collaborative leadership style, and ability to work well in a team environment has led diverse community groups, both locally and regionally, to the creation of innovative public private partnerships. Will serve BART well.
A long-time daily BART rider, Anu understands the importance of a safe, clean and reliable transit system. She will work to improve and grow BART’s infrastructure to bring the world-class transit system Bay Area Commuters deserve.
Anu will incorporate the cutting-edge technology that surrounds BART to provide a dependable, seamless transit system that will deliver sustainable relief to our congested freeways while enhancing the commuter experience.
Anu Natarajan is the Legislative and Regulatory Manager at Stopwaste, Chair of Greenbelt Alliance, and a member of the Regional Planning Committee at the Association of Bay Area Governments. She and her husband live in Fremont with their high school aged daughter.
